The beginning of the process of theater rehearsals with students
The festival’s practical workshops of directing started in March, 1400. The students of these workshops have already passed the courses of directing theory.
During the introductory sessions, students reviewed Robert Bresson's works and selected texts to direct the play according to the central views of his work.
The 11th Tehran School Theater Festival will focus on the structure of the works of Robert Bresson, a French filmmaker.
Simultaneously with this workshop, training workshops for acting students continued.
After reviewing Bresson's works, and selecting theatrical texts that could be rehearsed and performed with these tips in mind, the directors entered the casting stage. The actors were selected among the students of Maktab’s acting workshops.
The festival's directors have selected works from a variety of authors: Annie Baker, Marguerite Duras, Matei Vișniec, Sam Shepard, Samuel Beckett, Tennessee Williams, Harold Pinter and Bahram Beyzai. One of the directors also directs a text written by himself (in drama workshops).
After completing the casting stage, the groups will started rehearsing.
